Most new Activity Partners default to weekends-only availability — Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM to 6 PM. It is a sensible first instinct because it protects the day job and lines up with when most bookers are free. But the earnings data from six months of GoWith activity in Indian metros tells a more complicated story. Here is where the money actually lives.
The weekend bulge is real but not uniform
Across all activities and cities, Saturday is the single highest-booking day — about 1.4x an average weekday. Sunday is 1.2x. Both days skew morning (9 AM-1 PM) for Hiking, Fitness, and City tours; afternoon (3-7 PM) for Coffee & conversation and Museum tour; evening (7-10 PM) for Food tour.
If you only run weekends and only run the obvious time slots, you are competing against every other weekend-only partner in your city. The crowded slot pays the city-average rate; a partner holding availability outside the crowded slot can price 10-20% above average and still fill.
Weekday evenings are structurally underpriced
The hidden earnings slot is Tuesday-Thursday 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM. Many bookers who want a Coffee & conversation session during the week to decompress after work, a short Fitness partner for a run, or a Food tour as a mid-week break can't find a partner because most of the supply is weekend-locked. Partners who hold two weekday evening slots usually earn 20-30% more per hour than their weekend-only peers.
Monday is low-signal across the board
Mondays are the deadest day across every city and every activity. If you need to pick a day off, Monday is the right one. The exception is Monday morning Fitness partners in Bangalore and Bombay (people start the week with a run) — a narrow slot (6-8 AM Monday) that holds reasonable demand.
City-specific patterns
- Mumbai: Saturday mornings are nuclear for Hiking (SGNP, Karnala). Sunday evenings for Food tour (Bandra, Bombay Canteen walks).
- Delhi: Winter evenings 5-8 PM are the highest-paying slot for City tour and Food tour. Summer afternoons are near-zero demand.
- Bangalore: Weekday 7-9 PM is the strongest Coffee & conversation window because of the HSR / Indiranagar tech crowd pattern.
- Hyderabad: Weekend late-nights (9 PM-midnight) for Food tour, driven by the old-city haleem and biryani windows.
The three-slot availability pattern that works
The highest-earning availability pattern for part-time Activity Partners is: one weekend morning (prime demand), one weekend afternoon or evening (secondary demand), one weekday evening (underpriced slot). Three 2-hour slots a week, ~6 billable hours, at above-average pricing because you are not stacking against the weekend-only competition.
What the data does not show
Burnout. If you work the day job 5 days and then book out both weekend days + a weekday evening, you will quit the platform in 8 weeks. The data above is for the top-earning segment — people who have found a sustainable 6-10 hour weekly rhythm. Finding yours is more important than maximising short-run earnings.
