How GoWith works

How to Report an Unsafe Activity Partner on GoWith

If something feels wrong during a GoWith meet — before, during, or after — here is exactly how to report it, what the SOS button does differently, and what the moderation response looks like.

If something feels wrong on a GoWith meet — before, during, or after — the platform has two separate paths you can use. Which one depends on urgency. Here is exactly how to use each.

Use SOS if there is any active safety risk

SOS is the top-right red button on the Meet screen. Pressing it does four things in parallel: alerts your trusted contacts with your live location, notifies the GoWith safety team (a human looks at it within 2 minutes during Indian business hours), opens a direct line to the 24x7 safety line, and locks the booking status so no financial release can happen while the alert is open.

SOS is for right-now situations. Partner is acting threatening, you feel unsafe, you need to leave the venue — press SOS, do not try to "handle it yourself". There is no cost to pressing SOS even if the situation de-escalates; false alarms don't count against you, and we would much rather have a mis-triggered SOS than a late one.

Use Report for policy violations

Report is for anything that is not an active emergency: a partner asking for off-platform contact, acting inappropriately but not threateningly, misrepresenting their service, asking for payment in cash, or any other Terms violation. The flow: open the partner's profile → three-dot menu → Report → pick a reason → add a short description → submit.

Reason codes available: Inappropriate behaviour, Off-platform contact request, Misrepresented service, Payment outside app, Harassment, Fake identity suspicion, Other. Each goes to a different internal queue — Harassment and Fake identity are prioritised.

What happens after you report

Within 24 hours, a GoWith moderator reviews the report. We pull the full booking context: GPS tracks, chat log, previous ratings on both sides, any evidence you attached. Possible outcomes: no action (if the report is unfounded or ambiguous), partner warning (noted on the account, visible to no one else), partner suspension pending further review, or permanent removal. In cases involving potential illegal conduct, we cooperate with law enforcement.

The reporter gets a one-line notification of the outcome. Internal evidence stays confidential — we don't share the partner's chat log back with the booker and vice versa, both to protect both sides and to prevent the reporting flow from being used as a discovery tool.

Reporting after the meet

If you only realise after the meet ended, the report flow stays open from the booking page. The booking detail → three-dot menu → Report this meet. The 2-hour escrow window + the 24-hour rating window mean that a report filed within a few hours of the meet still catches the money before it releases to the partner.

False reports

Repeated false reports (determined via investigation) are themselves a Terms violation. The platform relies on the report flow being honest; weaponising it to retaliate for a bad meet or to try to force a refund is treated as abuse.

FAQ

What if I'm not sure whether it's an SOS or a report?

Use SOS. The safety team will downgrade to a report if the situation does not warrant emergency escalation. Over-escalating is never penalised; under-escalating can be dangerous.

Does reporting block the partner?

No — reporting and blocking are separate actions. Block is one-sided (just hides them from your feed and prevents them from booking with you). Report is a flag to our team for policy review. You can do both.

Will the partner know I reported them?

They are told their account is under review, but not who reported them or exactly which meet. If a suspension or ban follows, they know the policy area but not the specific booker.
